![]() So, what would you do? 1) Keep the Mustang 100X. It's pretty lacking on features vs the Mustang, but I know Perception vs Pelican is a quality no-brainer. Both boats seem like fantastic deals, but I'm concerned about storage if/when I go camping with the Swifty, as well as the open design (no contained dry spots). My "back-out" plan is to receive the Mustang 100X shipment, then take it back to my local Dick's and buy a Perception Swifty 95 instead. My experience with Pelican yaks hasn't been bad, but I've seen some quality complaints about Pelican in general that I wasn't aware of before my purchase. Since we're recreational yaker's planning to camp, the storage on this model was really appealing vs other options, but I'm concerned about quality. In the excitement of holiday sales, I picked up the Pelican Mustang 100X from Dick's for $229. Features may be more important than quality, but I suppose that depends on how wide the quality gap is. She won't go out as often as I will, so this boat needs some longevity, but doesn't need to be the best in my fleet. I plan to use it for one season, then buy something in the 12'-14' range next year. I'm a recreational kayaker, and this boat will eventually be my wife's. Hoping you guys can offer some advice on a recent purchase. ![]() I'm a noob yaker who's excited about my new hobby. ![]() » Filter by Shorelines: Destination Questions & Trip Reports » Filter by News, Notices, & Announcements Beginner's Guide to Kayak Terminology - NRS.Original content recommended but feel free to post third party content as long as it isn't spam.įeel free to message the mods to add an event you wish to share with other redditors!Ĭheck out Whitewater for a bit more gnarl, or Sailing for that cool breeze, Canoeing for that gentle float.
